Feeling Down Because of SAT?

I've got something that can help.

... you're welcome...

SAT Blues

I'm back with a rather depressing update. Yup as the title mentioned, my SAT scores finally came out (after hours of me raping the refresh button). As soon as collegeboard.com website posted June 2 scores I let out a scream. Yeah, I was that nervous. BTW, the collegeboard website has crashed today. Haha serves them right. Sorry for being so mean I guess I just have SAT blues.

Anyways, I got 650 on SAT 2 Bio Molecular and 680 for Math 2. Now I must say that although these scores are not absolutely horrendous, they are just ... mediocre. Being the overachiever that I am a "mediocre" is synonymous with . Well actually the 680 for math level 2 is not bad but biology oh biology! I am in AP Biology so it hurts me like hell that my score is only 20 points "above average". My friend in the same class got 780

I still have to take two more subject tests: Chemistry and Physics. I must say no more 600s for me! I want a 700+ score next time although I know that I must work extremely hard. I'm sick of these 600s!

Okay guys sorry for the ranting so much. I just feel so blue at my incompetency. Sometimes it just kills me how some people can be so much smarter without even trying. Then I remember that life isn't fair. Sigh.

These tests are definitely kicky my ass.
I'm going to go chill out, watch some PLLs, and try to get over this SAT blue. :(
Promise to make next post a more cheerful one.

A Day (Not) Completely Wasted

So today I woke up at 11 AM (slept at 2 AM the day before), showered, ate breakfast, got on a bus then a BTS (Bangkok's skytrain) and headed off to go learn physics at this school. It took me about 1 hour to get there and cost me 60 baht. When I reached the school, I found out that the school was closed.

Ofcourse I was very frustrated with myself for not making sure that the school was open. How stupid. So I wasted 60 baht and 2 hours traveling. What did I do then? Walked around Siam Paragon trying to kill time and mooned over my stupidity.

But not all is lost. I found him --

my future husband. Hahaha jokes, jokes. Anyways, in case you didn't know, above is Steven Gerard, or a wax figure of him anyways. I happened to stop by at Maddame Tussaud's display and got a picture with Steven here. Now I must add that I am not the biggest fan of soccer but Steven Gerard is definitely my favorite player, also captain, of my favorite team Liverpool. He may not score the most goals but he definitely is a true team player and a devoted captain. Liverpool can always depend on him.
Twas an honor meeting him -- or a replication of him anyways.

Nail of the Day: Skinfood's Rosegold

Hey guys,
How are you all doing? Anyways here's a NOTD (Nail of the Day) post, a new blog post series I plan on doing.

The color on my nails is SkinFood's Pedicure Sparkle but I'm not sure what the name of this exact shade is though -- but I love it nonetheless. Its a sparkly rose gold polish that is elegant but also fun! What I love about it is that you can actually see the glitter chunks unlike many other dull looking metallic polishes. It applies smoothly and is opaque in just one quote. In fact, the glitter chunks show up much better in a coat.

The polish color in real life is actually a bit more rose gold than in this picture but you can see the actually glitter here! Love it.

A Cover of Christina Perri's A Thousand Years Coming Soon

Stay tuned...

Movie Review: Snow White and the Huntsman

Here's my review on the just-in-theatres movie: Snow White and the Huntsman.

Initially, I had no interest in watching this movie: Perhaps due to the fact that I am no fan of medieval movies packed with fighting scenes. I'd rather watch Avengers (I know shame on me for not having watched yet) but it was already out of theatres.
Well, well, well so we watched Snow White and the Huntsma and Sui Eng and mine's final verdict was...

...we should have watched something else.

I don't know how to describe it exactly. Sure it was sort of action-packed but the plot was nothing special, the lead actors and actress (Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth) were two which I did not care for (although props to Charlize Theron though. She was absolutely stunning.), the scenes were dark and leary, nothing fairy-tale-like or magical about that, and the ending was too predictable. Come on, who doesn't know the ending to Snow White.

Although the movie was not overly unbearable, I recommend you spend your money elsewhere.  In one word, the movie was boring despite the numerous fighting scenes and  it put me to sleep, like literally.

On a side note, as you know in the classic Snow White tale, the step-mother aka the Evil Queen/Bitch tries to kill Snow White because the magic mirror tells her that Snow White is much more beautiful than her. In the movie version, I did not find Snow White (Kristen Stewart)  in anyway more aesthetically pleasing than the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron). Damn, Charlize Theron is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Pics to prove my point

Here's the queen in all her youthful glory.
Here's Snow White looking dirty and depressed. Note: she stays this way for about 95% of the movie.

SummerlyBubble's ratings for Snow White and the Huntsman (2012): 2.5/5

Day Out: Lunch at Piri-Piri, Siam Paragon

Phew what a day. I am now all tired and sore. Anyways, today my cousin, Sui Eng (its a Chinese name) and I went downtown Bangkok, watched a movie, ate lunch, and did some soft-core shopping.

Lunch at Piri-Piri:
We picked this restaraunt for no reason other than we both wanted to try eat somewhere we have never ate before. Piri-Piri is a Portuguese restaurant that serves burger-steak-fries-and-such (not sure if that has anything to do with it being a Portuguese restaurant).

Piri-Piri restaurant can be found, near iBerry (if I remember correctly) in the food-court floor of Paragon Shopping mall.
My cus(left) and I (right) taking turns doing our pig faces. :P

My cheeseburger (240 Baht) -- juicy and delish

I munched down a cheeseburger and it was certainly tasty; My cousin on the other hand did not very much enjoy her Piri-Piri chicken breast. It was dry and mediocre despite being the "highlighted meal" that shared the same name with the restaurant.

Overall, althought the food was certainly not bad, it certainly does not any deserve any praise. I'm sure I could have gotten a decent or even better meal (both taste-wise and price-wise) at other fast food chains like Burger King or Subway. Plus, the service there was pretty horrible but I still had to pay 10% service charge regardless. Boo.

Anyways, after lunch we went to watch Snow White (not the cartoon version). Check my next post for a review.

Summer Day Routine

Hey hey,
Just wanted to make a quick post about how I am spending my summer days.
-  wake up around 9 A.M.
- breakfast (whatever is in the kitchen)
- (re)watch Friends (yup the 90's sit-com) while eating
- study for chemistry (timed 1 hour)
- watch Friends!
-shower
- study some physics
- play Sims 3
- dinner
- watch some TV with sister
- random chillax time
- sleep :D

So that's basically it. I know kinda boring right. Haha but its okay. Will be going to Taiwan in less than a month! and getting a new laptop sometime this week! Hurray. Will update you later. Perhaps a blogpost about why I chose a PC over Mac laptop even though my parents offered to buy me a Mac Book Air.

SAT Subject Test: Things You Should Know + Test Day Procedures

Hey all,
Just wanted to make a quick post about SAT subject tests since I took it my first time today. I hard SAT 2 Math 2 and Bio M. I'm not going to write much about the actual tests themselves because other people aren't done with it but I just want to give you some test day advice. Wish I had known these before I actually took it.

  1. You get to choose which subject test you want to take first.
  2. You can basically choose the subject you want to take on the test day. It is not a big deal at all if you want to take a different subject test.
  3. You can only take up to 3 subject tests per day.
  4. Everyone that takes a subject test will sit in the same room, working on different subjects.
  5. For math, you can only use one calculator at a time.
  6. Don't forget to bring your passport (if you're from a different country than where you plan to take the test)
  7. PACE YOURSELF. I cannot say this enough.
  8. Bring a jacket. My test center was freezing cold.

And that's about all I can think of right now. I'm going to go chillax and play some Sims 3 now.

P.S. Math was easier than I expected but Bio was seriously hard as f---!.
Anyways hope some of the points above helped you.

Good luck!
